Ship your booth print, or print it in Atlanta?
Both work. Lots of exhibitors ship. Here's an honest look at each, so you can pick the one that fits your show.
Shipping print from home
What's good about it
- You hold the finished print in your hands before you leave.
- It works well for pieces you already have in stock.
- You keep using the printer you already know.
What to watch
- Boxes can show up late, damaged or not at all. You find out when you get there.
- Freight sent to the venue usually goes through the show's service contractor, and handling is often charged by weight. Your exhibitor kit has the rules and the rates.
- If you ship to your hotel, ask how it handles guest packages, how early it will take a box and whether it charges a fee.
- Your print has to be final earlier, to allow for transit time. A late price change means reprinting at home and shipping again.
Printing in Atlanta
What's good about it
- Nothing to ship from home. No tracking numbers to watch.
- Your files can change right up until you approve your proof. Need a design change after your proof? A revised proof is $25.
- Free delivery to your Atlanta hotel.
- Run short during the show? Next-day rush, flat $25 (not available on foam boards or the retractable banner).
What to watch
- You see a proof, not a printed sample. Read it closely before you approve.
- You need to order before you travel. Approve your proof by noon for delivery in 2 business days, or next day with rush.
- Your print comes to your hotel. Plan to carry it over on setup day. Cards and flyers fit in a tote or rolling bag.
- Big booth graphics, like fabric back walls and hanging signs, still come from your exhibit house.
