Filmed in Atlanta, a few blocks from your hotel

Atlanta plays a lot of other cities on screen, and some of those sets sit a few blocks from your hotel. Every spot here is public. Look from the sidewalk, buy a ticket where there is one, and let the people who live and work there get on with their day.

Atlanta Marriott Marquis. John Portman's 52-story atrium. It played the tributes' quarters in The Hunger Games films and the Time Variance Authority in Loki. Step into the lobby and look up. It's a working hotel, so keep it quick and quiet. Peachtree Center station. Downtown.

The Candler Building, 127 Peachtree Street. The bank in Baby Driver's opening heist. Baby's car sat outside 140 Peachtree for the opening scene. Downtown.

Woodruff Park. Anchorman 2's big news-team brawl was shot here, with the park dressed as 1970s New York. The Atlanta Streetcar stops at the park. Downtown.

Mitchell Street, Hotel Row. One short stretch between Ted Turner Drive and Forsyth Street shows up in The Walking Dead, Black Panther and Furious 7. A building blew up at Mitchell and Ted Turner for Captain America: Civil War. Downtown.

High Museum of Art. In Black Panther, its outside played the Museum of Great Britain, where the Wakandan axe goes missing. Closed Mondays. Midtown.

Piedmont Park. It stood in for New York's Central Park in Avengers: Infinity War. Open 6am to 11pm. Midtown.

Jackson Street Bridge. A Walking Dead filming spot and a favorite photo stop. The bridge has been getting a redo with a bike lane and seating, so check that the sidewalk is open first. Old Fourth Ward.

Swan House at the Atlanta History Center. President Snow's mansion in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The 1928 house is open for tours. Closed Mondays. A rideshare from Downtown or Midtown. Buckhead.

Worth the drive

Sweetwater Creek State Park. Scenes from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay were filmed here. Walk the creek trail to the brick ruins of the New Manchester mill, burned during the Civil War. It's west of the city in Lithia Springs, so plan on a car or a rideshare. Good for a free morning before move-in.
